What lens should I rent for baby pictures? ?

I am by no means a professional, but I am going to take pictures of my sister's baby at the hospital the day she gives birth. I have a Canon Rebel xsi with a 18-55 lens. I thought about renting a lens to get some different pictures, but I have no clue where to start.
